For NSUH Inpatients Only: Use only non-gel sodium heparin tubes with ≥ 14.5 IU but ≤ 20 IU heparin/mL blood. After collection, gently invert the tube 5 times to mix. Samples can only be analyzed after a 30-minute incubation at room temperature and within 2 hours of collection |

Specimens collected for Thromboelastography Hemostatis Lysis testing are extremely sensitive to motion and disturbance. Samples must be walked over to the lab and handed directly to laboratory staff. |
