Container/Tube: Sterile screw-capped, sterile container
Specimen: 1 mL CSF  ( 0.8 mL min) CSF must be clear-Reject if Hemolysis present.
                      Centrifuge CSF at 1500xg for 20 minutes and place the supernatant in a separate tube. Ensure that residual fibrin and cellular matter have been removed prior to transport
Transport Temperature:  Refrigerated
Stability: Room temperature: 7 days                 Refrigerated:            7 days                 Frozen:                   14 days
Patient Preparation   Lumbar puncture should be performed within five days of onset of neurologic symptoms suggestive of multiple sclerosis.
