Clinical Info

Candida auris has emerged as a significant fungal pathogen, especially in nosocomial settings. The ability of C. auris to colonize both the patient and environment, as well as common antifungal resistance, makes it an organism of particular concern from an infection control perspective.
Screening of patients for the presence of C. auris can assist with the implementation of appropriate infection control precautions (e.g. contact precautions) to reduce potential for nosocomial infections or outbreaks.
