Cary-Blair, formalin, or stool in other media or fixative are unacceptable and cannot be tested. Such samples will be canceled as improperly collected. Untreated non-preserved unformed stool 2 - 5 gm (minimal 1 gm) in a clean sterile screwtop container is the appropriate specimen type. |
