Result InterpretationNot Detected The FDA-cleared nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) is intended for in vitro qualitative detection of CMV DNA from saliva swabs from neonates younger than 21 days of age. Positive results from saliva are presumptive and should be confirmed with urine. This assay has been verified at Northwell Health Labs. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with the results of other clinical findings as an aid in the diagnosis of congenital CMV infection. |
