Collection Instructions |
For NSUH Inpatients Only: For blood draws, only 3.2% sodium citrate tubes can be used, completely filled by vacuum. Draw a non-additive discard tube or syringe first. After collection, gently invert the tube 5 times to mix. Samples can only be analyzed after a 10-minute incubation in room temperature and within 2 hours of collection. |
Transport Instructions |
Specimens collected for Thromboelastography Hemostatis Lysis testing are extremely sensitive to motion and disturbance. Samples must be walked over to the lab and handed directly to laboratory staff. |
