Behçet disease (BD) is a rare, chronic, multisystem disease caused by vasculitis ofblood vessels throughout the body. HLA-B*51 is the predominant genetic riskfactor for BD, however not all BD patients carry the B*51 allele. BD showsworldwide distribution, but it is most common in the Mediterranean basin,Middle East, and East Asian countries. |
