This test is intended for use as an aid in the management of CMV in solid organ transplant patients and in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients, as well as for monitoring CMV antiviral therapy.

Volume: 2 mL of EDTA plasma (0.5 mL min)

Stability:
Whole blood: Freshly drawn blood specimens may be held at 2 to 30°C for up to 24 hours.
Plasma: Preparing plasma specimens through centrifugation, after centrifugation, remove plasma from cells. Plasma specimens may be stored:
At 2 to 8°C for up to 6 days; at -20°C for 12 weeks, or at  -75°C or colder for up to 6 months (ship on Dry Ice).  Dedicated separate specimens will be accepted-do not send a shared tube

Minimum Volume does not allow for repeat testing.
