Clinical Info |
Malaria PCR, Molecular Detection is the recommended test for all suspected cases of Malaria. This assay provides significantly faster turnaround time and more accurate results than traditional blood smears. A result of "Detected", "Indeterminate", or "Invalid" will automatically reflex to a "P Blood", which includes a Rapid Plasmodium antigen test and a Giemsa stain for speciation and quantification. If parasite subsequent quantification is required, “Percent Parasitemia” should be ordered to monitor parasitic burden and successful treatment. |
