Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s)
Specimen: 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.80 mL) of plasma
Do not pre-chill EDTA blood collection tubes nor store tubes on ice, but process blood at room temperature.
Centrifuge tubes in a non-refrigerated centrifuge.

Separate EDTA-plasma from cells immediately after centrifugation, then aliquot and immediately deep-freeze at -20°C or below.
Send patient to a Northwell patient service center for collection if physician office cannot centrifuge and freeze plasma.
