Collection Instructions	Container/Tube: Sterile container Specimen: 5 g (minimum volume: 1 g) of liquid or soft stool (specimen should conform to shape of container). Transport Temperature: Refrigerate Note: Formed stools should not be tested, as positive results in asymptomatic patients generally represent colonization rather than Clostridium difficile associated disease. Submit only 1 specimen per episode. Repeat testing will offer no further useful clinical information.
