Clinical Info

This test detects antigens produced by C. difficile: GDH and Toxin A/B.
Only liquid stool specimens are acceptable. Formed stool will be rejected. For hospital use only. Outpatient should use Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) GDH Toxin A/B with Reflex to Molecular Detection.

Note: Formed stools should not be tested, as positive results in asymptomatic patients generally represent colonization rather than Clostridioides difficile associated disease. Submit only 1 specimen per episode. Repeat testing will offer no further useful clinical information.
