Clinical Info

Behçet disease (BD) is a rare, chronic, multisystem disease caused by vasculitis of
blood vessels throughout the body. HLA-B*51 is the predominant genetic risk
factor for BD, however not all BD patients carry the B*51 allele. BD shows
worldwide distribution, but it is most common in the Mediterranean basin,
Middle East, and East Asian countries.
