Collection Instructions

1. Collect 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5ml) of liquid stool or solid stool the size of a pea, in a screw-capped, sterile container.
2. Label container with the patients, name, date of birth, at least 2 patient identifiers
3. Send specimen refrigerated.
4. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
Note: Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
*Rejection Criteria: Quantity not sufficient, specimen leaking, unlabeled or mislabeled specimen, specimen without a minimum of 2 patient identifiers, specimen received after prolonged delay (more than 7 days), specimen in fixative.
