Container/Tube:  Lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s)
Specimen:  4 m protein-free filtrate L (minimum volume:  2 mL) ( see Collection Instructions)
Collection Instructions: 
 1. Draw 4 mL of EDTA whole blood and immediately mix with 4 mL of ice-cold 7% perchloric acid.
2. Let mixture stand for 10 minutes and centrifuge.
3. Separate and submit supernatant fluid for assay.
 Note:  If drawing minimum volume, mix 2 mL of EDTA whole blood with 2 mL of perchloric acid.
