Collection Instructions

1. Disinfect surrounding skin. 2. Aseptically obtain 100 mL of peritoneal fluid by percutaneous aspiration. 3. Expel specimen into 2 sterile, 50-mL conical tubes after collection. 4. Label tubes with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
5. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient temperature.
