Clinical Info

SHBG is a major transport protein for sex steroids (e.g., testosterone and estradiol). Measurement of SHBG concentration is useful as an aid in diagnosis of androgen disorders. Additionally, SHBG may be useful in the evaluation of infertility and investigation of suspected cases of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
